The Hidden Historic Gems of Beeston Town Centre

The Hidden Historic Gems of Beeston Town Centre
£8.50

Sunday 13th September 2.30pm meet Beeston Train Station

Join Toby Ebbs (Zig Zag Tours) and Chryse Tinsley (Beeston Civic Society) on a walk around Beeston Town Centre, to celebrate some its the lesser known historic buildings. Toby and Chryse are currently reviewing all unlisted historic buildings in Beeston and have unearthed some hidden gems, lesser known social histories and identified buildings that are worthy of protection from demolition (but would the Planning Inspector agree???). The walk will take around 2 hours and will include a fascinating collection of archival materials; including historic maps, photographs and anecdotal evidence that brings some of Beeston’s lesser celebrated historic buildings to life!

Zig Zag Tours will be departing to Beeston on bike (of course) from Nottingham Central Library 1.00pm, where upon arrival we will lock our bikes and continue the tour on foot. After the tour, we will then move onto a historic pub crawl by bike, to include Attenborough Nature Reserve, the interwar Bluebell Pub, with its original ’neo-Geo’ porticoed entrance and finally finish up at - where else - but the architecturally sublime Jacobethan Victoria Hotel, next to Beeston Train Station.

If cycling meet at Central Library 1.00pm, if walking only 2.30pm Beeston station.
