BIKE AND BARN HOLIDAY

OVERVIEW

Join Zig Zag to explore an extraordinary area of the Peak District National Park, cycling through open countryside with big skies and a unique festival based in the ancient walls of the Watts Russell Arms.

Zig Zag will be leading a ride to the festival from Nottingham and back along old waterways, parks, bridal ways and epic scenery. We will ride leisurely with plenty of stops so we can take in the ride and conversation.

ITINERARY

  • Friday 9 May
    We will meet at 09:30 at Nottingham Train Station and cycle leisurely to Alstonfield via Derby to arrive around 15:00–16:00 at the camping barn, setup our beds, get aquatinted with our surroundings and head down to the festival.

  • If meeting us in Derby, we will be collect you at Markeaton Park at 12:00.

  • Saturday 10 May
    If you are feeling active, we will go for a superb walk visiting some lovely spots of the Peak District before the festival starts again around 15:00.

  • Sunday 11 May
    We will have a leisurely morning with breakfast before heading back towards Cromford via the High Peak Trail where you have the option to catch the train to Nottingham or Derby. If you would like to cycle back from Nottingham, please let us know.

PRICING

  • Festival ticket, led ride, 2 nights in a camping barn and 2 breakfasts: £87pp

  • Festival ticket and led ride only: £57pp

  • E-bike hire for the weekend, collection from Bikes Love You on Thurdsay 8 May: £35 pp

  • All tickets include one free meal at the festival.

The camping barn is basic, no electricity only a wood burner, no shower only a toilet and wash basin.

Please bring your own sleeping bag and matt, pannier rack and bags are recommended. If you are unsure how to carry your camping gear on your bike, please get in touch and we can help with equipment.

The bike tour will be accompanied by a bike mechanic.
